Here’s why I love MOGL for 10% off dining in San Diego!

Here’s why I love MOGL for 10% off dining in San Diego!

MOGL is an easy and free program that gives you 10% back on LOTS of restaurants (and some food trucks) in San Diego.

If you haven’t signed up for MOGL yet, you really should. I *love* it. Let me explain why this an awesome app!

To start, you just create an account, enter your credit card information, and anytime you use that credit card to buy food or drinks at participating restaurants, you get 10% of what you spent put back on to your credit card at the end of the month.

But here are the 2 reasons why I think this is one of the best apps ever:

  1. You don’t have to even KNOW when you are at a participating restaurant. You don’t need to “check in” or anything. Sometimes I will get a notification that I saved money and I didn’t even know it.
  2. There are TONS of participating restaurants in San Diego. I went out with friends the other night and without even knowing it, the place we had dinner AND the two bars we went to afterwards were all in MOGL. Cha-ching!

Food trucks make great caterers!

Did you know that most food trucks LOVE doing catering jobs?

There are benefits to having a food truck cater your wedding, birthday, or special event: not only do they offer delicious food, but they can be cheaper than a traditional caterer and offer the ability to let your guests order the food they want. And of course, they are trendy, fun, and make any event more memorable!

If you’re interested in booking a truck to serve food at your next event, check out our catering page. Fill in the event details and several great food trucks in San Diego will contact you if they are interested in your event. This service is free and has connected hundreds and hundreds of event planners with local, affordable catering since 2011. You can also see a full list of local trucks here.

Do keep in mind that food carts and trucks require a minimum number of attendees to make their effort worthwhile–it doesn’t make much sense for them to prep and drive across town to serve 10 people! And on the other hand, if you have a large event, you may need multiple trucks to serve many people (one truck for every 70-80 people seems to be a good number). Get in touch with some local trucks and they will be happy to let you know what they offer.
